Prescription Settings

Configure how your prescriptions and SOAP notes are formatted and presented.

1

Open Prescription Settings

Go to Account → Prescription Settings. This page has three sections: General, Templates, and Letterpad.

2

General settings

Set your preferred note format (SOAP or free-text), the language for AI-generated notes, and your EMR integration if you use an external system. These settings affect every new note generated by the Ambient Scribe.

The default language is English. If your consultations are in another language, set it here so transcripts are processed correctly.

3

Prescription templates

Go to the Templates tab. Click New Template to create a reusable text block — for example, a standard footer with your signature, a frequently prescribed drug combination, or a set of follow-up instructions.

Templates appear as quick-insert options in the note editor after a Scribe session. Select a template to append it to the current note.

4

Letterpad layout

The Letterpad tab controls the printed prescription format — page dimensions, margins, font size, and which sections to include (provider details, patient details, document metadata). Adjust these to match your clinic's letterhead.

Changes to the letterpad apply to all future prescription PDFs. Existing saved prescriptions are not affected.

5

Save your changes

Click Save Settings at the bottom of each section. Settings are saved per section — make sure to save after making changes in General, Templates, and Letterpad separately if you update multiple sections.

If prescriptions are not formatting as expected, double-check that your provider profile details (Account → Complete Profile) are filled in — they feed into the letterpad header.
