Registering Patients

Four ways to onboard a patient — choose whichever fits your workflow.

1

Open the registration page

Go to Patients in the sidebar, then click Register New Patient in the top right. You'll see four registration options.

2

Option A — Scan patient's QR code

Ask the patient to open their Mercurie app and show their profile QR code. Use your device camera to scan it. This is the fastest method when the patient is physically present.

The QR code encodes the patient's Health ID. Scanning it fills in their details automatically.

3

Option B — Enter Health ID

If you have the patient's Health ID (starts with H-), type it into the Health ID field. A connection request is sent to the patient for approval.

The patient receives a notification and must accept before you can view their records.

4

Option C — Invite by email

Enter the patient's email address. They receive an invitation email with a link to create their account and connect with you. Once they sign up and accept, they appear in your patient list.

Useful for patients who don't yet have a Mercurie account. They complete sign-up at their own pace.

5

Option D — Create account manually

Fill in the patient's details directly: name, date of birth, gender, and phone number. This creates a provider-managed account immediately — no email invitation or approval needed. The patient can later claim the account with their own login.

Best for new patients who need to be onboarded in-clinic with minimal friction.

Patient appears in your list

Once registered and accepted, the patient appears in Patients. Click their card to open their chart and start adding records, prescriptions, or appointments.
